Social Work is a program that prepares trainees for jobs that help individuals, families, groups and communities to enhance their individual and collective well being. The program has been designed to provide fundamental, intermediary Social Work skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion of this program, the trainees will be capable of providing Social Welfare services in different settings. The graduates at this level will be able to work as social welfare officers at community levels countrywide.
A graduate in this field may work in different capacities at as clinical social work in health care settings; police force; prisons; NGO”S , local government authority and many areas countrywide.

Technician Certificate in Social Work
Job Title: Social Welfare Assistant (SWA)
Course Duration: 2 Years
Eligibility: Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum of FOUR PASSES excluding religious subject, or National Vocational Award (NVA) Level 3 (with at least 3 passes of CSE)
Career Pathway: Social Welfare Assistant can upgrade for one year and attain an Ordinary Diploma in Social Work
Ordinary Diploma in Social Work
Job Title: Assistant Social Welfare Officers (ASWO)
Course Duration: 1 Year Ordinary Diploma in Social Work after accomplishment of certificate level
Eligibility: The applicant to Diploma in Social Work should have Technician Certificate (NTA level 5) in social work
Career Pathway: Assistant Social Welfare Officers (ASWO) is eligible for a (Degree in bachelor’s) (Degree in social work, or BSW) the master’s degree in social work, or MSW; and the doctoral program in social work.
